Welcome to Broadway!
Allow us to welcome you to our favorite place in the world. Before your group arrives to your show, a professional actor will greet you, thank you for coming, and share an introduction to Broadway: a personal sharing of their experiences and a little behind-the-scenes preparation for the show you'll be seeing. On the coach, at a restaurant around the corner, or in your hotel, we'll come to you to welcome you to Broadway!
Meet The Artist
Meet some of Broadway's most gifted artists in an intimate setting, hearing about the experiences of a professional actor, director, choreographer, casting director, or agent. In this private meet and greet, students will hear backstage anecdotes, stories about productions, and have the chance to ask questions to actors from past and current Broadway Shows such as Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, Hamilton, Aladdin, and many others!
Let's Get Technical
Students can meet a Broadway stage manager or set/lighting designer to hear about the sets and tech of Broadway! Learn about the technical execution of a director's vision and the collaborative process of lighting and designing a set for current Broadway productions.
Living The Music
A Broadway musical director or Broadway singer will guide students in the art of interpreting a song through vocal dynamics and phrasing, using provided Broadway material. Students will sing with the director or performer towards the end of the masterclass, and take part in a question and answer session, including topics on vocal health and maintenance for Broaday performers.
Orchestral Workshop
The conductor or an assistant conductor from a current Broadway production will lead a musical master class in rhythmic intricacies, intonation, melodic phrasing, clarity, and technical power. This workshop allows students to study selections from a current or past Broadway score in a supportive and challenging atmosphere. The instructor will also answer questions about playing in a Broadway orchestra and how to prepare when auditioning as a Broadway musician.
